Blown away - by a gracious God.

Today we started off the day with devotions on the roof @ 6am and then work after breakfast. (by the way, i forgot to mention that yesterday we did our food distribution - handed rice bags to about 300 families in the community as well as all the TimBits shirts from the MHSA.) A very cool experience.

At 9am this morning we all walked into grand goave to the market to do a bit of sight seeing and shopping... yikes - the market was intense... and Yes, haitian money (goudes) are VERY dirty.  We bought some drinks (lotsa cool fruit drinks in a can) and some clothes - and kerry and i snagged a couple of SWEET chapeaus... he looks like a columbian drug lord with his on... man that guy is born to live here!!

after lunch, we were briefed by Lisa Honorat about what we would be doing later this afternoon - going into the community and visiting homes... sharing our stories and praying for people.  then some of the team started finishing up some of the projects before we left for the community visitation.

i had no idea what to xpect, but what happened blew my mind... with Marc and another leader from the church went with one team and Pastor Juliam and another leader went with the other half of our team... our team went and spoke to three different homes (groups of homes) and at each place, almost everyone wanted to follow Christ - we stood there - after sharing our stories, pastor marc who ask the people if they wanted to follow Jesus "Oui" and one from our team would lead them to accept Christ.  The power of it all was that we knew without a doubt that we were partnering with Jesus in what he was already doing.  Entire families following Jesus as a result of our obedience to simply share the good news.  Humbling. God was bringing hope back into our despair - people need to hear the news - about how good our God truly is - and without anything fancy - just being in the place where God has prepared peoples hearts and minds ahead of us... no words... i am trying to explain, but cannot. we are gripped by a powerful loving God - who pursues us - who is waiting for us to simply allow him to KNOW us... i have never experienced this happening... wow.

it is all coming together - Haiti Arise began by Marc and Lisa going into the community and sharing Jesus - and out of that, a church of 350 people was born - and they train people basic technical skills so that they can care for their families and change the face of the country - THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS COMING TO EARTH... and we all get to join Him in what he is doing.  God is so good.

Keep praying for us - we have to translate this into life at home... and only God can do that.  bit by bit - we have been reminded that every good and perfect gift (air, hope, friendship, fresh avacatos, water, the Word - a refrigerated drink) comes from the Perfect Father... we are unworthy but grateful children.

goodnight- until we have power again

So, here I sit with tears streaming down my face...blown away by your experience... We have been praying and will continue to pray and we are amazed (but not surprised)at the goodness of our Father! Your wife and kids just left for Calgary and some of the tears are from that as well. We had such a fantastic time together. You have two AMAZING kids who brought us a lot of joy and Mand was SO giving and loving and FUNNY and...I could go on and on... Thank you for sharing them with us. Love to you and safe travels home. Give your baby girl a big squeeze for us. Praying hard for that one too! Love, Annette

wow...wow... wow wow wow wow wow. i have nothing else to say guys... God has given me vision that this team is doing kingdom work this week and this post just confirmed that vision... praise god that he takes our humble lives and uses them to transform countries. god is in haiti. he has NOT forsaken this nation. no, God is moving... he is stirring a movement of believers that will spring up and overflow into the nations of the earth. out of this tiny nation overcome with so much poverty and despair, God is raising up leaders who will be a BLESSING to the nations... praise God that we get to be a part of this revolution. Keep up the faith, guys! i know its mentally, emotionally, and physically taxing but keep running hard after the prize... the goal to which christ has called each and every one of you! He will sustain you! Take in everything you can and let him transform you... you are all going to be unrecognizable when you come home. i cant wait. love you all...

ps i feel like God is saying that someone on the team needs to share a testimony that maybe hasnt yet because they are shy or dont feel like their testimony is as powerful as others... doooo it. God will use it powerfully!

Hi guys,

It's so great to hear all the comments and how God is moving powerfully in everyone's life. That's just God, and yes Jake, it never ceases to amaze me how He just wants us to be obiedient and He'll orchestrate everything and everyone, and then He'll accomplish what He wants done.

Hey Jana, just got off the phone with dad and we had a good prayer time for you. He said you were on his mind all day yesterday (Thursday) and he prayed for you all day. We'll see you at the airport.

Take care guys and may God burn all these experiences into your minds and hearts as you've seen how big, wonderful and powerful God truly is. I pray and trust that you all have seen another aspect of God that you've never seen before. And this will cause you to love Him with more of your heart, more of your soul, more of your mind, and more of your strength.
